I won a prize!!!!

For Christmas I went in to Scrapbook 911 (on Blanco road) and bought a few supplies to make a gift for my Grandparents. There was a raffle going on and I believe if you spent so much money then you were given a ticket. You just put your name on it and number and they called you if you won . . . and guess what!!!!!

I WON!!!!!! A huge bag of stuff!!! Take a look:
I think it was sponsored by Karen Foster.

Finally getting there . . .

Ha! "Finally getting there . . . " should have been the title for my marathon post a while back :).
Well, sit back with a warm cup of joe - because here are a lot of updates!!!!
(comments for each picture are right above the pictures)

Here is a great picture of me and my Grandmother! She is such a beautiful and strong lady . . . I love to see her. This was us at Thanksgiving.

Here is Tobi on The Rope Swing at my Mom's house. She and my dad put it up in time for the grandkids to use on Thanksgiving. They loved it. Score 1 for Grandma!

This year we got a very small tree for the girl's room. They picked out the ornaments, tree skirt, and ribbon - super cute!!! All of the presents they are getting from friends at school are going under this tree and they are very excited to know that they do not have to wait for mom and dad on Christmas morning to open the presents under this tree!!!

This is just a picture of a random morning at our house. Zoe was watching Noggin here while I was getting dressed before school/work. Belle loves her Zoraster!!!

A few days later than I would have liked but here is a picture of Tobi at her very first Christmas Program. Believe it or not, we had great seats . . . we just had no idea that our Tobers would be very front and center.
I will try to explain where she is standing: Look at the very first row of kids you can see, on the far left side . . . she is standing in between the two heads.

And finally: meet JAS (short for Jasmine) . . . She is Belle's new friend!!!!!!!!

Jas is 5 weeks old. Talk about cute!!! When she gets nervous she wraps her paws around our fingers (look at how she is holding on to Bryan in the next picture).
Belle thinks she is a great new chew toy and wants to bat her around.
We are working on "Gentle" and "No bite" with Belle.
She is the cutest little chunkers ever.
I love these dogs so much we may need 2 more!!!! but don't tell B I said that!!!!

Here is the best picture we were able to get of the two of them together.
Our pup-pup, Belle, is now 5 months old this Friday.
Lily (our cat) is not impressed.

Interim Info

I haven't updated in a while because of Thanksgiving and then being sick last week.
I will try to take a picture of the bunnies soon, but with it being rainy they hide behind their parents and I've yet to be able to get a good picture of them.
Tonight is Tobi's Christmas Program. I'll post pictures once we're home.

Moving right along . . .

Ummm . . . . does anyone know where this year went?
This is officially the fastest year of my life.
So what's coming up this week:
  • Thanksgiving - my FAVORITE holiday
  • My 5 Year Anniversary to my favorite hubby (ok, I only have one, good thing he's my fave)
  • 4 days off in a row! Sweet bliss . . . this means setting up Christmas decor, baking with my girls, and of course Stamping!!!!!
  • And there is a cool front that is supposed to be coming in . . . we may actually get to enjoy some hot cocoa here - yay!
Here are some recent projects:
Now 14 days ago our newest bunnies looked like this:
Today, they look like this:
From Left to Right, let me introduce you to
Acorn, Pipkin, Willow (very small brown blob between Pipkin & Thistle), Thistle (the teenager)
and in the back is Mama Dandelion.
They are so cute. I've been more active in holding these guys so they are pretty friendly already with us. Thistle is still pretty skiddish, but getting better.
Acorn is the darker medium sized bunny. This one is a complete snuggly bunny.
Pipkin is our little chunkers. He is quite a bit larger than the other two.
Willow is the tiniest and oh so sweet.

Recent Projects

I created this blog for two reasons:
  1. I'm a night owl and cannot talk to my family at 1am, so I blog so they can see what kind of craziness I've gotten myself in to.
  2. The other reason is so my friends that have relocated can check out the projects I've been doing.

Well, I've been doing projects, but have not uploaded them recently so here we go:

These are pics of mine and Bryan's craft room. The picture on the top shows the view as you come up our stairs. I sit on the right and have everything I need right around me. Bryan sits on the left to do his stuff and has easy access to the fridge. The picture on the top shows the shelves that are just behind and above my head. I am going to re-cover those magazine and card boxes to match the colors/fabric I have for the room. I'll post more pics once I hang the shade for the window. I love the paint color, it's Ralph Lauren's Evocative Sunlight. Bryan routed my shelves to have a pretty edge on them and then I painted them a pretty cream color that matches the cream in our dining room. The fabric that I've chosen for this room will include the bird fabric from the dining room also. So hopefully by the end the whole house will coordinate, even our craft room! We have a TV in the middle of our tables so we can suffer through each other's movies. And then across then end we have a spare table for our girls which right now has the laptop and the Cricut on there.

Amuse has these neat cards that are one layer but two tones. I wanted to copy those cards, so this is what I came up with.

I used one of my favorite sets for this card, Carte Postale. I was going for simple and elegant.

For this card, I used 'Dryabella' from Stamping Bellas. They have such cute stuff. I had to buy this one because of how much Bryan laughs at me for how long it takes me to dry my hair.

My birthday week . . .

November is without a doubt my favorite month:
  • In South Texas it's the first time that it starts to get chilly,
  • My birthday is the 14th of the month (this Wednesday)
  • Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday
  • My anniversary is the 23rd of the month and I adore my hubby
  • My nephew's birthday is also the 23rd of the month

the list goes on really, but it is my favorite month! I just wish we weren't going to hit 90 degrees on my birthday . . . aren't we supposed to be in the Fall season right now?????

Oh well, I'll be posting some projects later tonight that I've been working on. I used an older camera of ours and the memory stick does not fit into the laptop.

New pics!!!!

Dandelion had the new bunnies out in the open tonight - still in their nest but uncovered.
There are 3 of them!
The one towards the top of the picture has it's head facing left on top of the middle bunny and then towards the bottom right you can make out the ear of the 3rd one.

Also, Bryan - the brave soul that he is took the girls and Zac camping this past weekend while I hosted people in our home. Here's a cute photo:

Halloween

The girls looked so cute tonight for Halloween. Our neighborhood is so friendly too - I guess because we are all so new here.

Here are some photos:

Cupcakes I baked for Zoe's class
For Tobi's I made Halloween treat bags, but I don't have a picture - I forgot to take one

The girls painted some pumpkins for our front porch

Here's an up-close shot of their pretty faces - Aren't they Gorgeous!!!

Here are my cuties all decked out ready to go!
Isn't Zoe the cutest cat ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bryan sewed those bags right before we left so the girls would not have to use shopping bags.
How adorable is he!!!!

Recent updates - Long!

So let me catch you up on Thistle - the baby bunny.
Here is an updated picture although he/she has grown quite a bit since these were taken.

Then, as I mentioned in the previous post we went to San Francisco to run a marathon.
Here are some photos with explanations on top.
This photo is me outside our hotel. We are getting ready to go spend the day being a tourist.

Time to go . . .

Today we leave for our trip to San Francisco to run the marathon . . . aack!
I was thinking of a funny story this morning and thought I'd share before I go:
On Sunday we were preparing to go somewhere (I don't remember where) and Zoe was dawdling as Zoe does and Bryan fussed at her "Zoe get your a*s in the car". He walks off towards the door.

Tobi walks up to Zoe and repeats, "Zoe, get your a*s in the car". "Tobi!!!!" I say, "don't repeat your father!!!!" It was a riot, she said it as simply as she would 'can I have some milk please'.

More later!

Creative Husband and Baby Bunny Thistle Pics

Okay, so I have a very creative husband. He whittles (yes actually whittles wood), paints, sculpts, wood works, crochets & knits (yes, really - and he's very, very good!). So last week his project was a Halloween Calendar for the girls.

Oh, and Zoe spilled her cup on her (it was not another kind of accident ;} ). The other shadow at the bottom is Bryan's head.

And while I was feeding the rabbits, Dandelion seemed to be in a good mood, so I got some pics of the bunny, Thistle . . . who we thought would be grey, but it turns out that it (we still have no idea if it's male or female) will look just like dad, Fiver.

UBER CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! Look at it's tiny tail . . . "couldn't you just die" (you know the movie)

My sick girl . . .

Poor Zoe started feeling bad on Monday, but kids have superhuman abilities to feel bad one day and be completely fine the next day. Of course the opposite of that is true as well - feel fine one day and be terrible the next.
She sweats so bad - with the blanket on or off . . . but if she takes it off she shivers. And pup-pup would not leave her side today. Boston Terriers are supposed to be really good at reading their owner's needs.

Update on baby bunny . . .

So far 'Thistle' seems to be doing well.
I will take a picture as soon as I think mamma bunny won't be too scared.
It's been so hot for the poor bunnies.
We've been taking frozen water out for them to lay around like an air conditioner.
They like it.
They bring the baby out of its corner to get some cool air too.
Although I must say Bryan did a good job of building it so the hot air escapes . . . and we placed it where the breeze goes right through.
Pup-pup is doing awesome - she's so cute! Already her ears are standing up - I was hoping they would stay flopped over.

So very sad . . .

Today when Bryan got home from work, the bunny in the picture that I posted yesterday was dead. He was just getting his coat and hopping so cute.
Then I went out tonight and another little one was dead - this one was in the hutch.

We found one other kit (that's what babies are called). This one looks healthier than the other two combined. And it's bigger.

I only hope that because I had to go inside the hutch to get the one dead kit that Dandelion won't reject the one that is left.

I cannot begin to say how sad I am . . . and I cannot imagine how sad Dandelion is.
I love rabbits so much and really respect that they are not cuddly animals. I hope this last little one makes it.

It looks like it will be a dark grey bunny based on the fur that it has so far.
I think we will call it - Thistle - if it makes it . . . another name from "Watership Down".

Bun Buns and Pup Pup

In the last post I showed our new rabbits - Fiver and Dandelion.
Well, now we have baby bunnies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And mama already has one outside.
I did my best to get a pic of it (if you make the picture bigger you will see it better)
I think it's a boy and he has a very cute wobbly hop:

And we got a PUPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meet Belle or as we call her "pup-pup"

You can see that she is very stressed out here!

Watership Down

Watership Down is one of Bryan's favorite books.
When my mom found the rabbits, I wanted to name them 'Peter' & 'Penelope' but Bryan insisted on Fiver (the brown one) and Dandelion (the white one) - names he got from the book.
In this book the rabbits have a whole language which Bryan now jokes that since I do not know I will never be accepted by the bunnies.
Really . . . who knows what silpat means? :)

Are they not adorable. We love having these bunnies. Bryan did an amazing job of building the rabbit hutch and run. He even shingled the top of it. We are going to paint the outside of it a green color so that when the yard is landscaped we will incorporate it in to our landscape and it won't be so "here's our yard and yes we have a rabbit hutch." Hopefully it will look a little natural. I also have to find out what kinds of plants rabbits do not like so I don't plant them close.
Fiver (the brown one) is very camera shy. This is the only picture where he wouldn't turn his back on me.

A little down time . . . yeah right

We are always so busy. I keep meaning to post on this blog and add photos but of course the photos are all on the computer downstairs. But now my ever-so-talented hubby has made my laptop and his computer a network, so I can access all of the photos on this computer.

Is it really that hard to walk downstairs and use his computer?, you ask? The answer is no, but this one is so much more convenient. I can work on several things at one time while I wait for things to load on different websites - and all my stuff is now accumulating on this computer. If Bryan ever needs a laptop for his job again I'm sunk. :)

I will post pics of our new bunnies soon. Dandelion and Fiver are so cute. Bryan is finishing up their deluxe hutch as I type.

Here are some pics of the girls. I am going to use these pictures on a scrapbook page called "Hobo Princesses"

Crazy, Crazy Days

So Tobi has started Pre-K. I cried when I walked out to the hallway of her classroom. Where have the last 4 years gone? Why is my baby already 3?
And WHY DO MY DAYS SEEM SHORTER THAN EVER?

B & I have been working feverishly on the house. I'll upload some pics:

Here Zoe is helping Bryan recover our dining chairs.

Here is a picture of the dining room. I sewed the curtains, Bryan painted and I did a tea - stain glaze over the cream section. I found the candles at the Pottery Barn outlet (my favorite store) along with the river rocks, the linen table runner and the linen napkins (which are the exact color of our walls.)

Here is our living room and then our kitchen. You can really see the difference in color between our living room & kitchen in the one picture although in person it's really hard to tell. I wanted the kitchen just slightly darker. And the curtain rods in the living room and breakfast area mirror the copper in the kitchen.

And last our downstairs bathroom. I did the same cream & tea stain as in the dining room and the fixtures have copper in them.

I'm tired and Bryan and I are not doing ANYTHING the next couple of weeks.

Hope you are all well,
Tami :)
